Sally, 79, was born in Gilbert Plains and raised on a farm near Ethelbert, a small, close-knit community where life was simple and neighbours felt like family.<\/p>

Her early years were shaped by hard work, open fields, and a strong sense of connection \u2014 values that have stayed with her throughout her life.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In 1960, Sally moved to Winnipeg, stepping into a new chapter filled with both uncertainty and opportunity.<\/p>

Years later, in 1973, while working in an office, she happened to run into a friend who mentioned an opening in nursing. That chance encounter changed everything.<\/p>

Sally decided to take the leap.<\/p>

She began her nursing career at St. John\u2019s Hospital and later worked at St. Boniface Hospital, where she dedicated more than 25 years to caring for others.<\/p>

Working in gynecological surgery, Sally became known for her compassion and unwavering commitment to her patients. Nursing wasn\u2019t simply a career \u2014 it was a calling. She gave her time, energy, and heart to every person she cared for.<\/p>

Sally has always been someone who believes in showing up, staying busy, and doing her best, no matter the circumstances.<\/p>

When asked what advice she would give others, she didn\u2019t hesitate.<\/p>

\u201cThere\u2019s no guarantee in life.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

It is a simple truth, but one Sally has embraced fully \u2014 choosing to face uncertainty with openness rather than fear.<\/p>

\u201cSometimes, the unexpected turns lead exactly where you\u2019re meant to be.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

In 2021, Sally faced another unexpected change when renovations to her apartment prompted a move to Concordia Village.<\/p>

While transitions can feel daunting, she approached this chapter with courage and optimism.<\/p>

\u201cThe unknown is always scary. Don\u2019t be scared of new challenges.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

From the moment she toured her suite, something felt right.<\/p>

\u201cThe first time I toured my suite, I knew it was the one.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

Today, Sally is an active and valued member of the Concordia Village community.<\/p>

As a member of resident council, she helps shape the community around her, and she also spends time volunteering in the Village store \u2014 always ready with a smile and a kind word.<\/p>

For Sally, connection is one of life\u2019s greatest gifts.<\/p>

\u201cThe secret is to keep moving and stay connected with people.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>

It is a philosophy that continues to keep her vibrant and engaged.<\/p>

Whether lending a hand, sharing a conversation, or simply showing up for others, Sally continues to build meaningful relationships and foster a sense of belonging.<\/p>

She speaks about life with gratitude \u2014 grateful for her health, her experiences, and the many people she has met along the way.<\/p>

She embraces each day fully, finding joy in both life\u2019s big milestones and its quieter moments.<\/p>

Looking back, Sally has no hesitation in recommending Concordia Village to others.<\/p>

\u201cThe sooner, the better,\u201d<\/strong> she said with a smile, reflecting on how quickly it felt like home.<\/p>

Sally\u2019s story is one of resilience, compassion, and openness to life\u2019s unexpected turns.<\/p>
